Introduction to Lesson 4
The Europeans have arrived in Canada and are staying put. The British have replaced French control of the colonies in Canada. In this chapter there will be a number of topics covered including Loyalists and Repsonsible Government. Canada will try to increase more of its control over the colonies instead of having England make all the decisions in Canada. You have to remember that from England to Canada was an eight week journey by sailing ship. The communication between the two countries was highly delayed. So, if an order came from England, it would take 2 months to get to Canada. The colonists in Canada, must have felt far removed from English rule.In order for you to learn this material there are three levels of assignments.
